Laura Dake Executive Director ITN Bluegrass - Senior Transportation
Laura Dake
Executive Director

Laura Dake has been Executive Director of ITNBluegrass since October 2011 and before that, was Deputy Director from July 2007.  She initially became involved with ITNBluegrass in late 2006 when it was still just a great idea, working as a grant writer and fundraiser.  She is so pleased to have witnessed the very first ride on July 22, 2008, and to still be around to celebrate the 50,000th ride, which will be delivered sometime in late 2015! The best part, though, is hearing riders tell their stories and how much ITNBluegrass has come to mean to them.  Besides meeting the riders, Laura particularly enjoys writing, planning events and speaking to groups about the possibilities for improving quality of life for older adults in Central Kentucky.

In addition to her work with ITNBluegrass, Laura is a contract trainer with Bluegrass Community and Technical College's Workforce Solutions office, where she has developed and taught courses for Toyota, Sekisui, Corning, Link-Belt, Neogen Corporation and Kentucky Utilities, among many others. She has more than two decades of training facilitation and course development experience in both corporate and educational settings and specializes in courses on leadership development, verbal and written communication and customer service. She loves helping individuals improve their abilities to work effectively within their organizations.

Laura is both AchieveGlobal and DDI-certified and holds advanced degrees from the University of Michigan and George Mason University.  She lives in Versailles with her husband, three children, three dogs and two outdoor cats.

Barbara Warburton - Ride Coordinator and Customer Service Specialist Bluegrass
Barbara Warburton
Ride Coordinator and Customer Service Specialist

Ride Coordinator Barbara Warburton first heard of ITNBluegrass when Laura Dake spoke at an AARP career fair in 2008, but knew of ITNBluegrass' founder Gale Reece through Gale’s family’s company Highbridge Springs, a water vendor Barbara purchased from in her position as a senior commercial buyer for Donaldson Co., Inc., a manufacturer of filtration and air cleaning systems. Barbara was intrigued by the work ITNBluegrass was proposing to do and eager to do something productive after her retirement from Donaldson. In her work as a ride coordinator, Barbara loves speaking with members and volunteers on the phone. She says that she has "a heart for seniors, therefore, working with them is such a delight."
